Meatball Sundae difficult to digest

I was listening to Seth Godin last night on a web conference to search engine people talking about his new book, Meatball Sundae.

The idea behind the book is to teach companies and marketers how to mix the old traditional way of marketing (the meatball) with the new marketing ways (the sundae).

I picked out a few useful tips and stories, for example, 20 years ago everyone had a Yellow Pages book in their home to find companies and their services, so how come people don't use Yellow Pages online. Seth told the listeners that when you are going through an industrial revolution you just don't hear about it.

But we are going through an industrial revolution right now. I've blogged in the past about how Fopp music retailer went from profit to bankruptcy in under 2 years when they failed to grasp the change in music buyer behaviour from high street store to mp3 downloads, file sharing and Itunes.

However, maybe I was too tired last night but I found the concepts of Meatball Sundae to much to absorb in my first sitting.

I'm definitely a fan of Seth and will be buying his new book when it comes out, I guess I just need to take little bites of Meatball Sundae so I can fully appreciate what's on offer.

every copy comes with a free bottle of pepto bismol!

I've recommend this book to several clients that need to change there organization to copy with social media demands. Beleive it or not but some don't think it's important to answer email quickly.
